From a question in a Quora thread: Why is it that being very intuitive is a burden more than beneficial?
My response:
Since you added the adjective ‘very’ to intuitive, I’ll assume you are referring to the cases in which intuition leaps to conclusions which can charitably be called ‘castles in the clouds’ or negatively ‘conspiracy theories.’
Intuition is basically drawing conclusions based on relationships between dissimilar items that have a some similarities. If you test intuitions against facts, some will survive for further consideration. Some will not.
Some people need 9 out of 10 similarities between the dissimilars before they will grant a similarity while others need only 1, 2, 3, or 4 before they are off postulating a relationship.
If you elect to let your intuition and imagination run wild, not stopping to consider intermediate steps, some fanciful intuitions can sprinkle your worldview.
You may jump to conclusions unsupported by facts.
A very intuition person may decide to float along the foam of imagination rather than be anchored to reality.
